Guidelines
Rules
of Participation
1.
All teams MUST
rotate positions each week so that over seven weeks each player will
experience playing in each of the seven netball positions. This is to ensure all players have the opportunity to learn all the positions that make up netball. Substitutions can be made only when players are on a half game. Then the new player must go into the position vacated at half time.
Templates for working out rotations are available here. No changes of position are allowed during the game. Year 1 6-a-side guidelines can be found here. A handy spreadsheet for working out player rotations can be found
here
2.
Each team is to supply an umpire or pay $5.00 per game to use a pool umpire (Go here for more information. Two umpires control the game in the Netball
NZ format, with some small variance based on age group and ability. Please refer to the back of the scorecard for our guidelines
which are also published on our Umpires page.
3.
Players are NOT allowed on court wearing
earrings of any kind (including keepers), watches or other jewelery. Taping of ears or
bangles is NOT allowed. 4. We expect supporters on the sideline to leave the coaching of the teams to the coaches and ask that they give only positive support to all. 5. Games will not be cancelled due to weather. If an Extreme Weather warning has been issued by the Met Service a notice will be posted on this website if games are cancelled. See the FAQ for further detail. 6. Players cannot play down a grade or a year level 7. A maximum of two boys may play per team. They must play in different thirds of the court
General Guidelines1. Game balls are supplied. 2. Basic First Aid supplies are available. 3. Bibs are provided for the Year 1 6-a-side games. 4. Winter League GradingThe first three weeks of the league will be grading games. To help us, please number your teams on the registration form if you have more than one in an age group to show the level within your school. After grading teams will be put into a section and a draw will be issued for the remainder of the term. Where possible we will not play semi-final or final games but this will be dependent on the number of teams in each section.
Spring League Grading
The
Spring League is non-competitive. Depending on the number of
registrations teams will be informally grouped to match skills and experience
Draws and Notices
All
draws and related information will be posted on this website. We do our best to get the draws out as quickly as possible each week. Please be patient with us! If you have not received the information by Thursday morning please contact us. When necessary teams will be contacted by email or telephone using the information provided on the registration form. |
