Guidelines

 Rules of Participation

1.      All teams MUST rotate positions each week so that over seven weeks each player will experience playing in each of the seven netball positions. Templates for working out rotations are available here.   At half time only substitutions can be made. No changes of position are allowed

2.      Each team is to supply an umpire.  Two umpires control the game in the Netball NZ format, with some small variance based on age group and ability. Please refer to the back of the scorecard for our guidelines which are also published on our Umpires page.

3.      Players are NOT allowed on court wearing earrings (including keepers), watches or other jewellery. Taping of ears or bangles is also not allowed.

4.      We expect supporters on the sideline to leave the coaching of the teams to the coaches and ask that they give only positive support to all the players and umpires.

5.  Games will not be cancelled due to weather unless an Extreme Weather warning has been issued by the Met Service. A notice will be posted on this website if games are cancelled. See the FAQ for further detail.

6.  Players cannot play down a grade or a year level

7.  A maximum of two boys may play per team. They must play in different thirds of the court

General Guidlines

1.      Basic First aid supplies are available.

2.      Game balls are supplied.

7.      The KidzplayNetball League is a learning experience for players, coaches and umpires.

4.      All games are played on Saturdays.  The first game starts at 8.10am and games will continue into the afternoon.  Time for the final game depends on the number of teams involved in the league.

Winter League Grading

The first three weeks of the league will be grading games. To help us, please grade your school teams so we can ensure that they are placed at the most appropriate level.  We also ask that if you think your team should be playing in the top grade of their age group to mark this on the registration from.  This does not mean they will automatically play in this grade.  After grading teams will be put into a section and a draw will be issued for the remainder of the season.  Where possible we will not play semi-final, final games but this will be dependent on the number of teams in each section. Note there is no grading for Year 1 teams.

Spring League Grading

The Spring League is non-competitive. Depending on the number of  registrations teams will be informally grouped to match skills and experience

Draws and Notices

All draws and related information will be posted on this website.

We do our best to get the draws out as quickly as possible each week.  Please be patient with us

When necessary teams will be contacted by email or telephone using the information provided on the registration form.
