Based at Albany in Auckland’s North Shore, Kidzplay Netball is an open netball league for Year 1 – 4 players.   We offer an environment for children to take part in a team sport, to have the opportunity to have fun while learning ball skills, teamwork, fair play and the pure enjoyment of playing a sport.

Kidzplay Netball offers the following programs.

All netball takes place at Pinehurst School, 75 Bush Road, Albany.  Your school team, or group of friends (not connected to a school) is invited to take part in our league.  We look forward to your involvement.

Year 1

Year 1 children play a non-competitive league 6-a-side version of netball.  They have two centres, two attackers and two defenders (bibs are provided). They play on a ¾ size court, with a size 4 netball and shoot at 1.8m (6ft) goal post.  If providing your own umpire for this age group they must be an adult willing to work with our mentors.

Year 2

Year 2 play on a full size court, with a size 4 netball and shoot at 2.3m goals.  These children are placed into the traditional positions of netball but the main emphasis is on the understanding of passing of the ball down the court towards their goal and then shooting a goal!

Year 3 and Year 4 

Year 3 and Year 4 play on a full size court with a size 4 netball and shoot at 2.6m goal posts.  The players quickly develop their skill and understanding of netball.
