Grading games have finished. All teams, except Year 1, which is not graded, are now in competition.
PLEASE NOTE: Kidzplay Netball does not enter into discussions over grading decisions and Grades are final and will not be changed.
YEAR 1 is non-competitive so will not be graded.
YEAR 2 - YEAR 4
Grading games have finished for all Year 2 – 4 teams.
Competition for Grade Year 2 Kōwhai began on 7th June.
Competition games for all other grades will start on 19th July.
Games are two 15-minute halves with a 2-minute halftime break.
Teams play a round robin and stay in their grades for the competition round.
At the end of the round robin, the team with the highest points wins the grade. Please note: When there are two or more teams with the same number of points, they are further ordered by Goal Differential to determine the winner. Further information can be found under the 'Results & Standings Info' below.
Note: When Grades Year 4A, 4B, 4C, 4D, 4E & 4F have a Bye, they will play a Non-Competition Cross Over game (see information below).
Rotations for Year 2 to Year 4 teams
All Year 2 to Year 4 teams must rotate positions each week. Teams can start fresh with their player rotations from 19th July — there’s no need to continue from your last grading game. Simply start fresh for the Competition Round and continue as normal for the remaining games.
Substitutions cannot be made during the game, except when players are on a half game. In that case, the new player must take the position vacated at half time. Players must not be moved around at half time or during the game.

Year 2 Grades
Year 2 teams are identified by Te Reo names instead of the traditional alphabetic indicators (2A, 2B, 2C, etc.). This applies exclusively to Year 2 grades.
In Year 2, we have many teams who are of a similar ability, and because of this, grades are not listed in any particular order. This does not change the way in which we grade teams, and all teams will be placed as best we can with other teams of a similar ability.
YEAR 5 & YEAR 6
Grading games have finished for all Year 5 & Year 6 teams.
Competition for Grade Year 5C began on 7th June.
Competition games for all other grades will start on 19th July.
Teams play a round robin and stay in their grades for the competition round.
At the end of the round robin, the team with the highest points wins the grade. When there are two or more teams with the same number of points, they are further ordered by Goal Differential to determine the winner. Further information can be found under 'Results & Standings Info' below.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL Year 6 teams, including Year 5/6 teams will play to the following guidelines below, starting Saturday, 19th July:
Grades Year 5A & 5B (Competition Round only)
During the competition round, Grades Year 5A & 5B will play to the Year 6 Grade games format, starting Saturday, 19th July:
Grades Year 5C & 5D will play under the same rules as the Year 2 - Year 4 teams (two 15 minute halves and weekly rotations).
ROTATIONS
Year 1 – 5 teams can start afresh with their rotations from 19th July but thereafter must follow the weekly rotations as per the rules.
Any teams not following the rotations rules and/or using players from higher graded teams, will lose points.
During the competition round, only Grades 6A, 6B, 6C, 6D, 5A & 5B may play straight netball with no compulsory rotations of positions.
CROSS OVER GAMES
The Cross Over games are where teams have a Bye in their grade. Rather than have a number of teams without a game, we have created a non-competition draw where Bye teams will have a non-competition friendly Cross Over game against another Bye team. These game points do not count towards competition points as the Cross Over games are friendly not competition games.
The following grades have Cross Over games: Year 6B, 6C, 4A, 4B, 4C, 4D, 4E & 4F.
Unfortunately, due to numbers, all other grades with a Bye will have a Bye (no game) and not a Cross Over game.
DRAWS
The draws for Term 3 will be published soon.
Reminder the draw for 6th September (last day of the season) will be published closer to the time. All teams will have a game on this day.
Please keep checking our website and Facebook page for updates.
